Scania Appoints Three New Managers and Restructures Operations to Accelerate Global Growth

Scania, a leading global player in the transportation industry and part of the Traton Group, has announced a major reorganization of its executive management team as part of its strategy to fuel future growth. The restructuring aims to streamline operations, strengthen the company’s commercial capabilities, and position Scania for long-term success in key markets around the world. The company has appointed three new senior leaders to take charge of strategic areas that will drive this transformation.

Streamlining Sales, Marketing, and Commercial Operations

One of the most significant changes involves the merging of Scania’s Sales and Marketing departments with its Commercial Operations into a unified entity: Scania Commercial. This new commercial organization is set to become a cornerstone of Scania’s global strategy, focusing on driving growth and enhancing customer experience worldwide.

Stefano Fedel, who has been with Scania since 2001, has been appointed as the Head of Scania Commercial. Fedel brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked in various leadership positions within the company. His appointment comes as Scania embarks on a comprehensive overhaul of its commercial activities, aiming to bring greater coherence and efficiency to its global sales operations. The new structure will take effect on January 1, 2026.

A Focus on the Chinese Market

As one of the largest and most competitive transportation markets in the world, China remains central to Scania’s global growth strategy. In line with this, Scania has appointed Camilla Dewoon as the new President of Scania Group China. Dewoon, who has been with the company since 1998, has extensive experience in Scania’s operations and is well-positioned to lead the company’s ambitious efforts in the Chinese market. Her appointment will be effective from January 1, 2026. Under her leadership, Scania aims to strengthen its footprint in China, expanding its presence and advancing its growth in the region’s rapidly evolving transportation sector.

Integrating Strategy, Communications, and Sustainability

To further align Scania’s strategic vision and communications efforts, the company is combining its Strategy and Corporate Management functions with its Communications and Sustainability departments. The new integrated function, Strategy and Communications, will be headed by Anna Carmo e Silva, who will take on the role of Head of Strategy and Communications effective December 1. Carmo e Silva, who has been with Scania for over 20 years, brings a deep understanding of the company’s operations and a strong track record in shaping its strategic direction. She began her career at Scania as a trainee, and her leadership in this newly formed function will be crucial in aligning Scania’s long-term objectives with its communication efforts and sustainability initiatives.

Reallocation of Executive Responsibilities

These appointments and the reorganization of key functions represent a significant shift in Scania’s management structure, but the size of the executive management team will remain unchanged. Notably, Anna Carmo e Silva’s appointment will also see her join Scania’s executive management team, while the position of Head of Scania Commercial Operations will not be replaced following the creation of Scania Commercial.

Scania’s strategic restructuring comes at a time of rapid transformation in the global transportation sector, with the company aiming to leverage its innovation and operational efficiency to meet the changing needs of the market.
